Initial Examination

Your initial examination appointment will last approximately 30-40 minutes. First, we will review your medical history with you. Then a thorough examination is performed which consists of a series of measurements and assessments to determine the current status of your oral health. Usually, we will need a set of radiographs to assess the bone and root anatomy. This will be used to formulate a treatment plan to help restore your mouth to a healthy periodontal condition and help replace any teeth that have been missing.

We will work closely with your general dentist and other dental specialists who will be treating you. A report will be mailed to them. Many patients ask if a referral is needed to make an appointment. This is not necessary, as Dr. Garrison will work closely with any dental providers you may have. Please bring a list of your medications and current insurance information with you to your first visit.
