The State of Pennsylvania has updated the recommendations for dental offices to allow certain types of non-emergency treatment - PA DOH Guidelines. These primarily include the allowance of those procedures which do not create aerosols. We will be calling those patients who have previously cancelled appointments and are overdue for permissable care.
Our staff is like family and we feel that you, our patients, are as well. We want to do what is best to keep us all well and safe. Please give us a call if you have any questions regarding our protocols below and absolutely feel free to let us know if you are uncomfortable having treatment at this time; we understand!
We can not treat those patients that have any signs of Covid-19 or have come into contact with a person who has had Covid-19 or tested positive within the last 3 weeks. This means that we do not want any patients to come to the office if they have signs of any systemic illness of an infectious nature. When we confirm your appointment we will ask you some questions regarding signs of illness. We will also repeat these questions when you come in for your appointment. If you are unsure of your status, we recommend acting conservatively and rescheduling your appointment.
We only want the patient to enter the office, if at all possible. If it is necessary for you to have someone bring you to the office, we ask that they wait in the parking lot until your treatment is completed. We will call them when you are ready to leave.
We will be taking your temperature upon entering the office.
We will ask you to use hand sanitizer (to left of our waiting room door) when you enter the office.
We will require that you wear a mask, covering your nose and mouth while in the office and not having treatment.
Waiting room chairs will be spaced appropriately. We will be spacing appointments to keep the number of waiting room patients to 4 or less.
We will be wiping contacted surfaces with CDC approved disinfectants, as we have been doing for 30 years. In addition, we will now include all surfaces in non-treatment areas that are touched as well (door knobs, patient faucets, etc).
We will also ask you to rinse with a disinfecting mouthwash before entering the operatory.
We will not be using a high speed handpiece or Cavitron but will be rinsing your mouth with water(not spray).
The staff will be wearing masks while in the office. We will follow the same recommendations above (health questionaire, temperature etc, as well as wearing facial protective eyewear or shields).
We will be washing and/or disposing of clincial attire as recommended.
If you have any questions for the office, please call 610-566-2217.
